We feel very blessed to be able to share with others our beautiful side-by-side coastal properties in Southern Oregon. They are located on a 130-foot-high cliff above the Pacific, with dramatic views of far ocean horizons and rugged coastlines that stretch for miles in both directions.
Over the last several years we have been turning them into a peaceful oasis for BnB guests and for hosting our Spiritual Awakening retreats. All of this is somewhat new for us. We found our first coastal property while on a road trip in 2019, bought it and moved in. Then a couple of years later our next-door neighbor sold the second one to us.
As for me and Patrick, we met each other in late 2016 at a friend's birthday party in Oakland California. I moved there after retiring from a corporate career in the medical field in New York City.
I love ballroom dancing and I love horses. In my spare time in New York I entered Pro-Am dance competitions in which, largely due to the extraordinary ability of my professional partner, we won a few national contests. And when I wasn’t dancing I would often go to a stable in the countryside where I would fly over fences on a big-hearted, one-eyed horse named Sherman.
Patrick loves to fly too. When we got together he was working as a part time pilot at a glider airport where he pulled sailplanes up about a mile or so with an old crop duster airplane. He is a certified flight instructor and a whitewater river guide, but his main career path until he retired was real estate brokerage and investments. I found all that, along with his playful humor, to be intriguing. However, it is his beautiful heart that won mine.
From the start our relationship has worked amazingly well; we share in a touch of magic that I’ve never felt with anyone else.
Shortly after we met Patrick told me he had shed all his egoic baggage after becoming “spiritually awakened” a few years earlier. For me that has a ring of truth; he is the clearest, kindest, and most joyful man I have ever met. Plus, he has a strong, fearless central core that makes it easy for him to share his kindness and joy with others.
That inner joy has grown in my heart too.
